Tom Ford’s latest and most recent show was the finishing touch – with an unrivaled brilliance – of New York Fashion Week.
Ford noted that LA had changed him in his thoughtful presentation notes, and Instagram has changed everyone. The designer mentioned that today’s photogenic clothing, by its very nature, means that they are not shy, so this collection is simple in cut but not in impact.
The show took place at Lincoln Center’s David Koch Theater, which is often the setting for gala dinners, but nothing on the catwalk could be considered protocol.
The brand said no to dresses and tuxedos, but yes to shine. The more, the merrier. In addition to the sequins and satin, there were jean jackets with inlaid gold chains, stacks of gold necklaces over shirts, and stacks of metallic ribbed knits. And we are living for this glam.
