Canadian designers present us today a collection with a chill and relaxed vibe and a “sort of ‘I don’t care mood, whatever mood’ situation,” streetwear and grunge was the clever combination offered.
There are oversized camo outerwear, paper-dyed ripstop nylon jackets, graffiti-covered trench coats, tagged hoodies, and hand-painted bleached denim for the boys. For the girls, combat boots contrast with prairie flowers, spray-painted grungy animal prints or vintage bias-cut dresses, daytime doodles, and intarsia-ed with macramé. Strings of wooden pearls were woven into miniskirts and blouses and paired with striped poplin underpants for the cheeks.
A Swarovski crystal bralette provided a flash of optimistic brilliance, worn casually over a men’s white poplin shirt. Even at their dirtiest, the Caten cufflinks can’t do without a bit of sparkle. Great collection.
