French iconic Maison Alaïa has announced its new creative director, his name: Pieter Mulier. We know him for working alongside Raf Simons in collections for Jil Sander, Dior and Calvin Klein. He is known to be too shy to be in the spotlight. Though this characteristic may have been the main reason he was the chosen one, as Azzedine Alaïa himself always preferred that his work spoke for him.
Since Alaïa’s passing, the company decided not to look for a replacement. It was a team with no headmaster, with this announcement they seek to renew themselves, giving a global vision to the business.
Myriam Serrano, CEO of the brand, has said that the first collection we will see will be spring-summer 2022. We are looking forward to it!
