For her latest Sacai collections, the designer Chitose Abe collaborates with the cult streetwear brand ACRONYM, whose designer Errolson Hugh. Errolson brought the waterproof nylon. Abe got the bandana prints, buffalo plaid, and carpet jacquards.
One of the dominant lines of recent collections has been elegant functionality; it is undoubtedly a reaction to the pandemic. For Abe, the duel of the confinement produced the unlikely combination of silk fabric and raincoat. Moreover, she paired a comfortable buffalo plaid sweater with a buffalo plaid chiffon maxi skirt and cut a chesterfield coat in white chiffon with a bandana pattern.
The color palette is relatively neutral with pieces cut minimal and straightforward with a few pieces sticking out with bold colors and multiple layers of fabric. It is in itself a dynamic, comfortable and tasteful collection.
