In celebration of Chinese New Year, Burberry has released a limited edition capsule collection.
The capsule comprises of a number of Burberry classics like checked blazers and scarves as well as sports-influenced pieces such as a horned baseball cap. All of the pieces feature a Thomas Burberry Monogram motif and come in its signature colorway. Altogether the collection pays homage to the Year of the Ox – the Chinese zodiac sign associated with the earth, power and calm.
To accompany the launch of the capsule Burberry has released a film starring ambassadors Dongyu and Weilong. Titled A New Awakening the film celebrates the arrival of spring and is set against a lush cinematic backdrop that draws on Burberry’s long connection with the outdoors.
‘I have always found inspiration in nature and its energy. This film really represents our connection as humans to the outside world and the journeys we take in life, always discovering new things in both our environment and also in ourselves. I truly believe in renaissance; rebirth and new beginnings. For the new year, I think we all want to find love, balance, strength and hope this is the real beauty in life,’ Creative director Riccardo Tisci said in a press release.
The Burberry Chinese New Year capsule is available to purchase in Burberry boutiques across mainland China, Australia, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Meanwhile check out the campaign images here
