GOSEE ART presents: ‘What are you burning for?’ – the spectacular Burning River – art work by Jan Kuck … and submit your burning desires to the gallery Bernheimer Contemporary under www.the-burning-river.com!

Like a stream of liquid gold, the Isar rushes into the evening atmosphere in Munich from 7 to 15 March. The Isar, Bavaria’s ‘River of Dreams’, is becoming a spectacular piece of light art around the Prater Island for the MCBW (Munich Creative Business Week). A warm welcome to THE BURNING RIVER by Jan Kuck.

“What are you burning for?” is a central issue of our times for artists. Since the world is undergoing major transitions, and there is a great deal of unease in our society, politics on a global level is in danger of going down the slippery slope of extremism, the environment seems to be out of control, the economy is more uncertain than it inspires confidence, and technological progress is making our present look old faster by the day, … this is an issue of great importance for artists.

For the Munich Creative Business Week, Germany’s largest design event, the river is becoming the setting for perhaps the most spectacular piece of design art at the MCBW: The illuminated Isar. This new form of young urban art is supported both by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology and by Munich’s MONSUN GmbH, Messe München, ARTE Generali and further sponsors from the worlds of commerce and culture. mcbw.de

This is accompanied by projections onto the bank wall of the Prater Island with best wishes for the river, the city and the state. “What are you burning for?” Thousands of Munich residents and international personalities can submit their personal wishes to the Bernheimer Contemporary Gallery under the-burning-river.com. Your answer will be projected onto the bank of the Isar river for one minute with large lasers from 7 thru 15 March, 2020, in front of Munich’s Alpine Museum.

Plus there’s a PHOTO PRIZE for the best entries sent by 11pm Sunday – send your photo from ‘Burning River Munich’ to isabel@bernheimer.com. The best photo will be part of an edition of seven with artist Jan Kuck. The winner is awarded Edition 1/7. On the jury:  Jan Kuck, Blanca Bernheimer (photo gallerist), Olaf Wiehler (photographer).
