‘The Lighthouse’ for VIRGIN ATLANTIC’s VERA magazine – with illustrations for the impressive film featuring Robert Pattinson and Willem Defoe illustrated by Ruby FRESSON c/o JSR AGENCY

Enough to drive a good lad mad or a mad man madder…. For Virgin Atlantic’s VERA magazine, illustrator Ruby FRESSON c/o JSR AGENCY produced a feature on The Lighthouse, a film spectacle starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Defoe. The film centers on two lighthouse keepers trying to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. The Lighthouse is the latest film by Robert Eggers, “the visionary filmmaker behind modern horror masterpiece The Witch”, … and can be seen on the silver screen since 2019.

Ruby illustrated an interview with a real-life lighthouse keeper on the myths of the unique job still rampant in the 21st century. JSR AGENCY: “An interesting departure for Ruby, whose work usually abounds with color, these atmospheric illustrations were all created in black & white as a nod to the film.”

Watch the trailer, enjoy the illustrations and GoSee THE LIGHTHOUSE – or as Robert Eggers would put it: “Tag yer best son of a bitch bastard liar friend then walk ‘em straight to the nearest theater!”
